In spite of Typhoon Ondoy, the opening ceremony of World Animal Day in the Philippines pushed through at the Eastwood Mall with a solemn candle-lighting ritual in honor of all animals devastated by the typhoon. The event was hosted by PAWS Golden Heart Awardee Regine Tolentino, and was graced by other celebrity animal welfare advocates such as PETAs Isabel Roces, international model Joey Mead with dog Noah and former Miss Earth and TV5 Host Ariana Barouk.
